Lessons Practice and Milongas
|
Essential tango walking is shown and practised; It is highly recommended for students of all levels to master this skill and also
practice at home.
We strive to maintain the atmosphere of an uncompetitive and chilled-out learning environment. The lesson begins with a
short technique exercise. We then link that technique to the figures of the lesson.
Here the class is separated according to the beginner or intermediate level of the student
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE
When the lesson is over, it's followed by a practice session where students have the opportunity to lead or be lead by the
teacher and/or change partners
BEGINNERS
Students are taught the classic, salon style with basics steps, salida, ocho, barrida, giro, decorations, posture, the embrace,
voleo, floor crafting and essential musicality.
INTERMEDIATE
This level incorporates more complex figures, decorations, double time steps, floor crafting and how to use the music to give
polish and elegance to your dancing.
WORKSHOPS
The waltz, milonga or technique classes are organised in advance.
GUEST TEACHERS
We are very pleased to have welcomed some of the most talented and charming of guest teachers here at Same Gender.
We intend to continue to provide our students with a great line-up of teachers that we hope will inspire you to continue your
quest to dance tango Argentino in this growing and ever popular style of, same gender.
CLOTHING
Please wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict your movement. You might consider a change of clothing after work
SHOES
Do not cut corners with your footwear as your ultimate comfort, enjoyment and some ability to dance depends on this.
Comfort is of paramount importance while dancing. It's very difficult to dance beautifully if your feet ache!
Lessons are offered as a drop-in class followed by a practice or a milonga
